Aloha!

Mahalo for stopping by our page. I am Stephanie, makuahine to Maluhia and Malie. Their names have similar meanings of calm, peace and serenity, which is what I was seeking when I started this journey. In 2021, the world was in turmoil, there was so much uncertainty and I also was facing a cancer diagnosis which was also causing so much chaos in my mind. I needed to find something to center me, to ground me and bring me back to my blessings.

I found what I was seeking through this process and it has led me to where I am today. Creating mo'olelo allowed me to think of how to tell a story through fabric, sewing and designing. Keeping my mind and hands busy helped me through one of the toughest seasons of my life. Along with the support of my husband Chad and my son Charles John (Cj), Maluhia and Malie, I survived.

I am grateful every day that I was given this opportunity to create wearable art. People have shared their stories of struggles and blessings with me and allowed me to portray my interpretations of what that means.

That is my mo'olelo..what is yours?

Xoxo,

Stephanie
